Not sure how they'd compare, but if you ever come to Seattle, there is a restaurant here that has my favorite Dan Dan noodles - the noodles themselves are even hand made in the restaurant!

(The restaurant is called Seven Stars Pepper)Hesterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06632265286092073338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4517314022815771141.post-39804220861126959992011-11-18T16:03:40.239-08:002011-11-18T16:03:40.239-08:00Wow. The Singapore Sling was good and the Reisling Grand Cru was the best I have ever had--great wine service and recommendations. The best was having dinner with our friend Joy. Look forward to getting back there.Big Daddyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06352176473852793292noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4517314022815771141.post-15081433162840448192011-11-17T20:26:53.707-08:002011-11-17T20:26:53.707-08:00What a meal! I'm particularly pleased to see that the Brussels Sprouts were so good because I LOVE BRUSSELS SPROUTS and no one in my family will eat them except me! I hope we can have some together when I visit. Great post, as always!HHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11240631792997844118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4517314022815771141.post-73549365302695047422011-11-17T18:22:05.995-08:002011-11-17T18:22:05.995-08:00did you know the NY Times is looking for a new res...did you know the NY Times is looking for a new restaurant reviewer? I'm calling them to hire you. You'll have to move to New York and disguise yourself whenever you go out to dinner. A large moustache will do. Then you can analyze the moustache for secret ingredients or just comb out leftovers in case you're hungry later. All the critics are disguised this way. No body can tell. Really.

DanDan noodles just look so fantastic that I could smell the curry steaming out through my monitor screen. This is the kind of meal I would go dumpster diving for. In fact I may make over to Lukshon tonight and hang around the alley.

Brussel sprouts. Used to hate them. Now your reporting makes me want to try them. See? You are very influential already! I believe you have a long career ahead of you as a savvy eater.

Chow! Did you know that often restaurants will give out recipes? I've written to my local newspaper for a recipe and the paper actually calls the restaurant. Any chance of you ever getting one of those-the brussel sprouts sound divine.
Also I recall that one Xmas you had a fabulous looking fudge recipe...any chance for that one, or is it a family secret?????Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07928471024893510445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4517314022815771141.post-65026680344071538522011-11-17T11:13:36.744-08:002011-11-17T11:13:36.744-08:00This is my favorite post so far. I want the brussel sprouts, the rice and the noodles for sure.
